wow, for once i'm kinda happy that england has such pathetic weather. we've had a couple of summer storms... there was lightning... that was about it.
At the moment since it's winter now in Australia there hasn't been much natural disasters near wher I live. The most recent one has been a flood in Lismore (northern New South Wales) but that's hours away from me in Sydney.
The closest I've ever been to a natural disaster was a few years back, during the last major bushfire crisis my state had around Christmas time. The fires had gotten to a surburb only 25 minutes by car away from me. We could smell the smoke.
In this country, Bushfires are just about the most common disasters we get, and even then alot of them are usually, and sadly, purposely lit.
The next would be floods. But other than that, nothing. There's only been one or two earthquakes that has occured in the last 100 or so years and the only I remember is the one that happened in Newcastle... and that was only about a 4.3 I think.
Sometimes there's hurricanes, but Queensland usually get those. Which is no where near me.

well, where I came from, we have Hurricanes and Tropical Storms and such, also, if a tsunami ever hits the eastern seaboard, we can kiss our asses goodbye, other than that, we have brush-fires and floods and such, you know the usual, I would also consider the god awful humidity to be a natural disaster. Where I am now which is in Atlanta, just ice storms and rain.

not much happens here in san diego, california except for the occasional earthquake. There might be times when rainfall is pretty low but thats about it. Im just concerned about earthquakes.
At the moment we are having a rather nasty drought. Not far from us it rained..there were 6 year old kids who had never seen rain. we are also very prone to bushfires. australia is the land of bushfires.

We don't have natural disasters at all where I am in Singapore. We do get the occasional trembles from the earthquakes in other neighbouring countries though and of course bush fires in the drier part of the year.
We're pretty fortunate in the sense that we aren't on any plate borders and we get tropical weather throughout the year, but I really want to experience snow in my home country at least once.='O

The ice destroyed some major power lines and some towns went without electricity for about a month...in winter, that's kinda harsh...-_- I didn't have any power where I lived for 12 days. Thankfully, because we had a firewood stove at my house, I didn't have to go to a shelter and I was able to stay somewhat warm and cozy in my home...reading for the most part of the day...until the sun went down.
Florida.. hurricanes, of course! >_> A lot. Ruins meh house.
