Thread: Need some help

Have you tried using the following programs:

Adaware
Spybot Search & Destroy
Hijackthis

If you haven't I would highly suggest downloading them. They are both the most useful programs out there for spyware. Hijackthis is a bit difficult to figure out if you don't know what you are doing, so i'd highly suggest talking to someone who knows how to use it.

If that still doesn't work I'd try re-installing IE.

thx fot the list but when i said i used different programs i meant those -- adaware cant find the file .. the thing is that i had this problem before but i fixed it . i cant remove the file by any means. and if i re -install IE the file(s) that r causing hte problem wont be removed. but anyway i appreciate your help.

what is the name of the file? is it an .exe required by windows (type the name of the file in google to find out)? or is it just the file for the virus program? If it's not something required by windows....be prepared for some quick action.

Have the folder where this file is located opened....be prepared to delete it. But before you do, you're gonna have to stop the program.

bring up your task manager (right click your start bar or alt+ctrl+delete), Processes tab, and find the exe name in the list.

Click end process and go back to your window and delete that sucker. But mind you it might keep comming back. (other files create this file when it notices it missing)....your best bet is to look for the file online and see if there are any permanent removal tips.

If you boot up your machine in 'Safe Mode' you should be able to remove the pesty file. If it comes back, then it's time to try one of those spyware removal tools... (Also, there's the official Microsoft Spyware Tool Beta located at http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx )

the exe file was in the task manager, so i did what you have said. the file is removed. but like you have said the problems still occurs but the pages doesnt open anymore so thats a relief.. so another file is causing the problem... the name off the deleted file was khooker.exe --- dont know how that came in the system. the file that opens IE every five minutes is still in the system. i cant find the name -but it helped so thanks a lot

well that was fun -- it helped for ten minutes but now it has returned . Like I said the file that causes the problem is different. the deleted file is didnt came back. and i downloaded the programs Registry Mechanic and Ace utilities didint help -- it aint a spyware --- even without the IE program the sites appear .. so need some help- every advice is appreciated

y'know it could even be a virus or worm or somethin like that. Or maybe you should try callingf a technichin.
