    Next-gen Graphics

With all of the next gen systems(and the pc) having the same amount of graphical power, can games be rated in terms or graphics anymore? Or will the new next gen games be only rated in gameplay, sound, and replay value?

different companies have different game styles, graphics, and most importantly: Budgets. I'm sure they'll still be rated because not every game is gonna be made by the same company with the same funding. You see God of War and Katamari Damacy on the same system but it's clear one had a much bigger budget to make the visuals more appealing.

But the lowest graphical achievement you can make on the next gen systems still looks phenomenal. So unless you were intent on making a 2-d game I think it would be harder to differentiate. Besides, when people usually rate graphics they rate on how realistic things look. And every game previewed looked as realistic as each other.

Also, you are speaking of the current generation of systems, where you can obviously see differences.

i agree, some games are just ugly, no matter which system it's made for.

It doesn't matter, this will apply for everything, there will still be Cell shaded games (which look like junk in my opinion) there are still gonna be sprite games (S.RPG's perhaps) and there will still be underfunded games which will look like a PS2 game at best.

The Budget and style of graphics will differentiate it's appearance, not every game is going to look mindblowingly realistic. Next gen will have it's Zelda: Windwakers, Jet Set Radio's, Disgaea's, and Katamari Damacy's which may play great but look like they could be on a PS1 or N64.

Also, take into account that we will get used to the (now phenominal) graphics.
Now it's still but that'll change in a few years or less. And then we'll be at the same point we are now, as spoiled as we are...

Actually the PS3 has 2x the power and graphical output then that of the XBOX 360 (proven fact). But microsoft will have the jump with their built in memory.
