No, this isn't a "can we have an rpg" thread

Okay, I know you guys are sick of "can we have an RPG" threads, but this isn't one.

I wanted to know this: does anyone know what happened to the RPG we used to have? I don't remember what it was called, but I want to know if it is still around. I need to play an online RPG for one of my classes, a freshman seminar about New Media and Identity, and that's the only online RPG I know about.

Or else, can you guys suggest me one? I've tried Omerta, the mafia one Oo. But it'd be sooo much better for me if that old AO RPG were still alive. I hate starting at the bottom of things, and this assignment is due soon.
