Is it normal to name you computer?

(It's a she), and Micom just means 'My Computer' really. MECOMP > MICOM

So is that normal? Not just with computers either, but others things like cars and even toasters. Admittedly I have named a few of my toy animals, but that's not the same thing though... or is it? I'm not sure anymore.

Yes actually, it is normal to name your computer. In fact if you network it it's required. This one is Althea and a friend of mine named his Chun (think Remo Williams).

Can you say LAN party?

All of the computers on my LAN are named on a theme.

Workgroup name: Yggdrasil
My primary computer: Valhalla
Secondary/Downloading computer: Nifelheim
My laptaop: Einharjar
My PDA: Valkyrie
My dad's computer: Asgard
My younger brother: Midgard
My youngest brother's computer: Helheim

my household servers are have a name after Anime Characters XD so no its not weird to name your computer

I named mine Agatha after the pre-cog from Minority Report. Eh....it fits i guess....but over the past year i end up calling it stupid peice of sh*t more than anything else..

Thanks to Microsoft's "My ___" theme, users kinda have to name their computer, whether or not they're on a LAN. It'll end up being called OEMCOMPUTER or something anyway.

People always seem to name cars, maybe as a carryover from sailors naming ships. I just call mine "the Matrix" (Tokyo 2040, Priss's bike is just "Moto-slave" and it has an AI!). I'm not sure about people naming toasters, but there are probably other household appliances that get names based on their "personalities".

I not sure naming appliances could be consider normal, kind of weird; naming your computers it's ok... i guess.
About cars, the only persons that name theirs are girls, they always give their rides cute names, oh, and my guy cousin that calles his truck BAD BOY!

I don't think it's really bad, just... a little weird (no offense). For my comp, it's just known as "My Baby" to all my friends.
