Well, in the long run, its up to Darc what they want to use. Although I will agree Roxio, and the others are easier to use....it is truly up to Darc and what is comfortable to learn. I guess we will have to see what Darc finds out about the cd's and all that and see where to go from there to help...

    Re: Omg Help

Windows XP (home, Media, or pro) can handle buring CDRs straight from the OS without media player or and 3rd party softare (If the drive is on the HCL-see bottom). Just treat the drive as you would any other folder, and then the OS will prompt you with "do you want to write these files to disk" after you drag and drop files to the appropriate drive.

BUT, there are myriad ways in which this won't work- most of which concern your hardware. Is it installed correctly? Is it on the HCL (hardware compatability list)? If not, do you have the right drivers and firmware/software on your machine?

If it's an old drive, it's possible it doesn't recognize the disc correctly.

Darc's replies are a bit short and disjointed. Can bots type into forums?

    right click my computer
    then click the hardware tab
a new window should open listing all your computers hardware

go down to dvd/cd rom drives
the name of cd hardware should include CDRW if it capable of burning cd's

if it can, then simply right click file to be copied to disk, select copy
then got the cd drive and right click paste
then double click the cd drive
and select burn to disk/write to disk

also if you are using an old cd rw rom, then it might be a bit twitchy about some makes & will not write to 800mb disks

might suggest obtaining a copy of NERO burn, to for future use

    good luck

EDIT: if you havent got a cdrw rom
then you can pick 1 up cheap and install yourself really really easy (can u use a screw driver, its that easy, if you have problems pm me and walk you through it ok) - dont pay to have someone install it for you as that will cost more than the CDRW rom itself
