While viewing another thread about Canada, I got a glourious idea!
Where does your family originate from. I'm not talking race or color, but where your family has been, migrated, emigrated, or where most of your "last-name" relatives are.
My family lineage is mostly from Europe. My mothers side of the family comes from Scandinavia. My fathers side comes from Germany and Poland. My dad apperently found a lot of our "family name" in a town in Germany. One of them that has the same name as my dad is a marine commander in some navy. (very high official). My Fathers great grandparents moved to Minnesota before WW2. My mother's side of the family I think came around then too. My mother was from Michagan and moved to minnesota for college purposes. That's the jist of it.
My father is of African heritage....and his family line here in America goes back to the late 1600's.... My mother is a 2nd generation American whos Family migrated from Scotland. Mix those together and you have the most dangerous Chimera in Los Angeles county
My mother's side of the family originated in England, with the first fleet in 1788.
The first fleet for everyone who doesn't know is when England sent it's first lot of convicts to Australia to establish the settlement.
So yes, one of my great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather was sent to Australia for stealing a horse.
Before that, we don't know... apartenly there's Gyspy in me as well somewhere.
My dad's side of the family originated in Germary and Poland during the second world war. My grandfather's family left Germary and migrated to Poland... as well as changing the family name to sound more Polish... *or something like that, can't really remember the story properly* where my grandfather was born. He later moved to England where he met my grandmother and where my Dad and aunts were born. In the mid 1970's they moved over to Australia where 10 or so years later.... I popped into the world
And that's pretty much it.
I'm half Australia, half English, part Polish, German and Gyspy.

As far as i know on my mothers side, we are mostly from the Isle of Wight, England so not really to know about them.
On my Dad side, we are meant to relations in France apparently because somewhere along the line members of our family moved to England a long time. I haven't really been bothered to trace down our family tree.
If My brothers Andiihere of Psy2004 know otherwise then post bros!!!!!

Well. On my mothers side I'm English, Norwegian, Irish, German, Scottish, and French.
On my fathers side I'm English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and German.
My husband is English, Scottish, Irish, and Cherokee, so our children have quite a mix from both sides.
It makes learning history fun and a lot more personal.
Well in one of my uni courses some teacher said something in the line of : "If we go back far enough in time everybody has a little bit of everywhere". But my family name, Marinkovic (the son of a sailor in Serbian), has been ennobled by Emperor Maximilian II in 1569 for their service as military commanders.
No data older than that I got. However there's one weird stuff, although we originate from Europe, I've discovered many of us live in the US...

Mothers Side: China.
Fathers Side: US/England.
