I didn't watch the Oscars, but alot of internet sites and radio stations seemed to be talking about how Chris Rock was hosting. I was surprised they let him in the first place!

chris rock was the most exciting part of the oscars. he did a great job with a stuffy crowd. the rest of it was predictable and boring.

what wassad was that the animation category only had three nominees. no anime guys? come on....shark tale got nominated and that was a TERRIBLE film

Japanese cartoons can't be nominated as Best Animation.
They are, indeed, a foreign film and would likely require a new catagory.

I think Spiderman 2 was nominated and won for best visual effects if I'm not mistaken but I didn't watch the entire show...

Not true.

The year before, Spirited Away was indeed nominated and WON in the animation category, as was Princess Mononoke at one time. These were dubbed and had theatre distribution in the US the year before they were nominated.

Ghost in the Shell Innocence would've been a great nominee to have in there..
