Paradise Kiss - Anime

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this new show yet. Apparently the manga has been out for a while, though I have no idea how long. I'm waiting for the show to finish before I go out and read the manga.

So far, I've found it to be a breath of fresh of air really. The characters are so believable and the story is very plausible. The main character is a normal high school girl who gets drawn into the world of fashion by some still in school clothing designers (most of the characters are around the same age).

What makes it interesting for me (one who, in general, hates fashion) is the perspective that you get. You experience this "new world" of fashion and design through the eyes of an outsider. An outsider who usually would look down upon these people, but in taking a second look sees that there is so much more to this uncharted territory then just the latest fad.

I also really appreciate how the show did not pull any punches when it came to characters and their sexuality. None of the sterotypical japanese high school student "OMG you want to kiss her! - you pervert!". Its much more realistic in its representation of modern day teenager relationships.

Its just something different that I recommend to anyone looking for a change of pace from the standard Super robot show overflowing with fan-service.

I need to see this, I was reading the manga and it was great.

Thnx for bringing attention to the anime. I have to find it now. When I was reading the manga I loved it and I just hope the anime does it justice.

Hmmm....might be my next anime, I do miss down to earth series, though I do like most genres.
