for that matter, shouldn't the Anouncement Forum be group rights limited so that only Admins and Mods be able to start threads there???

I let her BUT she said she'd put it in her journal, so tell her she has to do it out of that, and yeah they shouldn't be able to post in the announcements section that must have turned off when the board was updated can you handle that LK?
so just tell her I allowed her to have the contest in her JOURNAL since thats what she asked. But be nice
I'll just tell her the truth, we took out the Poetry section so there is no other place to hold the contest other than her journal.

You could always just code something into the site that handles contest requests. Like they submit it and an admin has to approve it. Then after that the approval dumps right into this forum. Kinda thinking along the lines of how you have reported posts set up now.
