Sorry, I'm not Catholic. I don't pay much attention to sightings of the Virgin Mary or May. I only know there have been alot of them.

Hmm...this is all so interesting. The prophesy and so on, I wonder when it comes to the so-called last Pope if the church will tear itself apart because they think whoever they elect is the antichrist.

well we all must die at some point in our lives, and the Pope, has had his fair share of brushes with death. Whenever he shall pass, i don't think it really matters, it's not something we can prevent or speed up, not really.

Like others have said, there will be a new Pope, a period of mourning for the the passing of the current Pope and a time for the transition and acceptance of the new Pope. John Paul II has indeed created a very tough spot to fill. His persistence is one of the main things that stand out to me about him...and through that persistence, you can feel that's he genuine. All we can do is trust the Church to elect the right person to fill the job when the time comes.

Changes will happen with the new Pope, considering each person is unique but for the better or for worse, no one will really know...but for some reason, in my heart I don't see things getting better. I see too much corruption in the world and even within the Church to be inspired towards the election of a Pope who is better than JP2. Sure the new Pope will be in better health, maybe have fresh ideas for the Church, but . . . what made JP2 special will be hard to match.

But just like everything else that's happening . . . we just gotta wait and see.

Yeah it's a sad tiem for all us Irish Catholics, infact all catholics. I haven't been catholic for more than 5 years but I went with my parents to pray for the pope in a local St Patricks Catholic Church.

Cheering anyone's death is ****ing stupid. I've removed your totally unnecessary comment.

The man has done more for the world (catholic and non-catholic alike) than any man in the past few hundred years and you go and cheer his death. The fact that he's the head of the Roman Catholic Church is irrelevant considering all the good he's done.

Go away until you smarten up.
