    Pricing for PS3

Looks like the price for PS3 will be around the same price for the Xbox 360 $300-$400 rang.

Will this stop you from buying the Xbox 360 since it's around the same price and the specs for the PS3 is suppose to be better then the xbox 360? Or does the price really matter? Some web sites say that the starter games for xbox360 arn't that great. Now for myself, I'm not the guy who would go out and buy the lastest consoles when they come out. I wait until all the fanfair dies down, price drop and better games come out before I would buy either.

I'm having plenty of fun on my XBox as it is. I'm certainly not in any rush to get a new console. I'd rather wait, let the price drop, and find out what problems the consumers have with each product.

As far as the prices being the same and deciding between XBox360 and PS3; I would suspect that most of the people picking up their XBox 360s already either can't wait for PS3, are XBox fans as it is, or simply have that much money that the price doesn't matter anyway.

Glad to hear it. I'll need to start saving now.

Chances are I won't buy the PS3 until there is a FF game on it though. Like Agent Orange I like to wait and see what happens with the first release. The 360? Not interested.

I'm more than likely going to be late with this one as well, PS2 came out in 2000 and i didn't actually get one until the end of 2002.

Well if the price for PS3 would be around the same price as the X-box that means that the ps3 has better features and more kool tools to use......

    Re: Pricing for PS3

Ofcourse it's going to be to be the same cost as the Xbox. Sony would have to be insane to have otherwise (though all the xbox purists at the game stores here are lying right and left about the price being $600 so people will by the xbox360). And the Nentendo Revolution will most likley be about $100 less.

Most people don't by systems becasue of specs...they buy them for the game titles and the 'extras' (such as DVD play, etc). The Xbox could wistle dixie and wash my car for me and I wouldn't by it if it had no games I wanted on it. The PS2 could stay for the next 5 years and I'd still buy games for it if they were good games I knew I would play.

If your buying systems becuase of internal stats, your going to be very disapointed. Game companies don't use all the features in the current systems. They won't use all the current features in the next gen consoles either.

In the end, it's going to be about the best overall 'value' of the system. Does it have good 'extras' that you will actually use? Does it have the games you want to play? Are you locked into buying services and extras to get the full use of the system? Those are the important things....it's not price that counts, but overall value.

I pesonally think that the PS3 will have more vaule. It will have a larger selection of games. It's fully backwards compatalble (wtihout emulation), it will play more media types by default without 'upgrades'. And it's the same cost as the Xbox 360! In short, it most likley will have more value for your cost.

But then again, I'm a PS fanboy!
