    Problem with anime (Obsession)

The problem with anime is that people get to obsessed with anime and make it look bad. I mean I have this kid that thinks he knows kung-fu just because he can wip pencils from his pocket really fast. Do you agree with me.

    Cool Re: Problem with anime

In a way yes I do. I also know how you feel about the pencil kid, I know a kid that thinks he can take anyone because he watched DBZ for two months.

I still think people can become a little crazy over anime but, There are many things that people react to in this same way. Also, yes, I do believe anime inspires style and a way of living.

There are no anime fans around me, so this whole problem is out of question. The kids mentioned are not "true otaku" and will stop thinking that after they grow up a bit.

Yes, I have been exposed to the anime-over-obsession virus. My friend's younger brother is so into Inuyasha that he's growing his nails out and he uses a practice sword to hack around and doesn't even try to learn how to use it properly (so you have to stay out of his way/duck when he does use it).
Anime can also open people up to new styles of art and culture as well--which is always a good thing.

This more a debate topic len... but thats my opinion.

And I compleatly agree, Especially with the young fans, before I graduated high school (My school had Grades 7 to 12), when i was on AO on the library computers, the young'ns would would ask if I liked DBZ, and when I told them no, I don't, I don't like the story line (The plots dry and repeative), they freaked (This applies for the majority of the Anime thats popular with the younger crowd).

Obsessions are fine, but only in moderation.
