when you try to play dvds what happens??
does it say dvd on the front of the drive??
My DVD drive refuses to play DVDs...
It used to work fine, my computer says there's nothing wrong with it but it simply refuses to play any dvd...
Cds and cd roms work.
Anyone got an idea? No drivers recently updated, and please look for common problems first, no tech support and manufacturer contacting if it's not really necessary.

Nope it says there is nothing in the drive, it does recognize CD-ROMs and audio CDs though...
Did it work after you updated the drivers for it?
since when did you upgrade your computer?

lol Sorry I didn't read clearly...
Make sure all your plugs are in (IDE power suplly cords anyother cords) Never know might of jared something loose? I was having the same problem with mine might still be plugged in but might not be all the way just make sure everything is plugged in
But wouldn't it stop playing anything if something is unplugged?
