Also you wouldn't be moving at the same speed, depending on where you are, the gravitational pull changes though only slight like in the hundtreth's or thousandth's or even further place in the equation.
Basically "you" wouldn't even make it to the center. the pressure in the middle of our planet would compact you into a marble sized ball.
As gallcomp stated, "the earths core is responsible for gravity" Im sorry, that is wrong.
Mass creates gravity. Yes i, you, everything with mass has a gravity. if a hole were in the center of earth, the earth would only loose the abount of gravity that the mass was in the hole.
Since the core of the earth has an extreme amount of mass due to the pressure compacting everything into a small area, the main force of gravity is in the center of earth.
Gallcomp would be correct if the pressure ceased to exist, and thus the center of earth would loose it's density. but if the center of earth lost its density, it would have some place to go.(outward.) thus making our planet explode.
Also you wouldn't be moving at the same speed, depending on where you are, the gravitational pull changes though only slight like in the hundtreth's or thousandth's or even further place in the equation.

I'm going to throw a monkey wrench in.
There are some people who theorize that the earth IS hollow because of the gravitaional pull of the mass of the crust etc. The thought is basically that if you go deep enough that the mass of the earth etc above you will be sufficient to create it's own pull/gravity resulting in a crust/magma/crust situation.
Footnote: Earthquake studies have pretty much disproven this but what do we know. lol.
LoL....sorry guys and thanks for correcting me for about the tenth time XD....well im not really too educated in how the center of the earth works...im only in 10 grade gosh...lol...but i find it somewhat funny...E![]()
yeah, just like there are people who think that the earth is only 2000 years old![]()

2000? So 9 years after Christ's birth? lolOriginally Posted by KnightofNi

i heard that it doesn't work, that if you keep diggin somehow you end up back where youre started
'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something

That's quackers. In reality, man can only PROVE that earth is up to 6,000 years old. (this is because carbon dating isn't usefull after 6,000 years)Originally Posted by KnightofNi
But beyond that, no one really knows if the earth is fifty trilion, or seven thousand years old. Also, other methods to date the earth are too unpredictable in the way that they use them. For example: Radiological Dating is only consistent under certain "conditions" and "only ifs".. Using the half-life of radioactive material to date depends on how often that substance had formed cracks in it and when. there is no way to find that out, so the half life may change greatly. this makes it unusable, contrary to popular believe.
As far as a young planet, i don't think that it is.
