Re: Is rap music degrating to women?

look again, it's all because the women who rappers meet want the rappers, for thier money and street cred, they are used to women wanting to have sex, and then they think "wait all thses grlz want me in bed? cool!" so they go on and say all this bs about somegrl who he found and got done with ehr and how she ascted slutty and all that. That is the women's fault who surround the rappers....
ans as for white ppl, c'mon look at eminem, he didn't become a rapper to be w3hite, he did it, because he knew he could rhyme. He broke barriers, his story is a true one of following your dreams against all odds! ANd I want you to tell me what song is degrading to white ppl siren
Again my thought is, it is a state of mind, they are surrounded by women who only want sex...... so tehy think all women only want sex, (That of course ain't right, but they really don't care)

For one, I said it was how rap makes white people ACT that is degrading. Please read my post more carefully.

But since you challenged me, I will find a rap song or three degrading to white people.

So here you go:

"Like my niggas from South Central Los Angeles they found that they couldn't handle us; Bloods, CRIPS, on the same squad, with the Essays up, and nigga, it's time to rob and mob and break the white man off something lovely"
--"The Day the Niggaz Took Over"; Dr Dre

"Buck the devil; boom. . . . shoot you with my .22; I got plenty of crew; I take out white boys. . . . we got big toys with the one-mile scope, taking whitey's throat";
--"Buck tha Devil"; Da Lench Mob

"To all my Universal Soldier's: stay at attention while I strategize an invasion; the mission be assassination, snipers hitting Caucasians with semi-automatic shots heard around the world; my plot is to control the globe and hold the world hostage. . . . see, I got a war plan more deadlier than Hitler. . . . lyrical specialist, underworld terrorist. . . . keep the unity thick like mud. . . . I pulling out gats , launching deadly attacks";
--"Blood for Blood"; Killarmy

Enough proof for you?

And yeah. Blaaaaame it on the women. It's always the women's fault, never the pig-headed man who's generalizing all women into a sex object category. How do you know these women are not threatened with their lives to do as these men say? (And before you accuse me of not knowing anymore than you do about that, I will freely admit that I do not know if that's true, it's merely a speculation.)

Ok, this isn't a new thing. No matter what music genre it is these types of women are called "Groupies" yeah I know, shocker that it's not just a rap thing. There were alot more back in the 60's and 70's when sleeping around was a tad bit safer aka pre AIDS.

Rock stars probably got alot more bed time back then than rappers do now, but it didn't influence them to make song after song about women being hoes and sluts and bitches and make slutty music video's about them.

And honestly if anyone should be upset by rap lyrics about women it should be black women because that is what the songs are about. I've read some of the lyrics and all they ever do is call black women whores. And I can tell you this black women are starting to get fed up with the way rappers portray them.

First comment- The white man is the goverment, and the govt is really be a bunch of idiots. They puttin down Lations, and blacks, as for those lyrics, I ain't never heard of these sonry rappers, I mea tell me somethin on Lil' Flip, Ludacris, G- Unit, Lil Jon and the Eastside boyz. C'mon! and this guy Killarmy sounds racist, and one thing I do have to say, if u do find songs that are degradgin to carcaisans, think about it.............. the KKK, segregatio, slavery, this is the best way black ppl can get back at them for all of that.......... a bit unorthadox, but c'mon't tha's the best thing they got. And the stuff I'm sayin about women is my opinion, nobody gotta like it!

Can you name a positive point concerning women to any Rap songs or videos and are they the exception?

For the record I loved Rap when it first hit the scene. Now? Whenever I see some guy dripping in his "filthy lucre" surounded by bevy's of gyrating hips....I turn it off. It's the modern day harem without the responsibility and it's just as degrading.
oh i love it! great reply to that! *claps to her* you should be nomonated for "Most Kick @ss Women". i think that SOME rap songs are degrating to women. but not all are. i heard a great rap song thats comeing out on cd in july. and its by a girl! i thought it was fantastic. and so i say not all rap songs are degrating to women.

but let me ask you this girls. how do you feel about the song "Ass Like That" by emiemn (however you spell his name). i get the message of the song but i want to know what you girls think of it. do you think this is very degrating to women or no?

but its also the evil vile men that write these songs for entertainment. not all girls are sluts you know!

actually most of what your saying is kindda true. alot of women come on to rappers bc there famous and w/e so it seems to them that the girls are sluts and want to sleep with them. so they think its ok. so i can see where your going at. but for thoses who do have that problem and still rap about women badly *tsk tsk tsk* for shame!!!!! tsk tsk tsk
