"To all my Universal Soldier's: stay at attention while I strategize an invasion; the mission be assassination, snipers hitting Caucasians with semi-automatic shots heard around the world; my plot is to control the globe and hold the world hostage. . . . see, I got a war plan more deadlier than Hitler. . . . lyrical specialist, underworld terrorist. . . . keep the unity thick like mud. . . . I pulling out gats , launching deadly attacks"; --"Blood for Blood"; Killarmy I understand ur point Adrianna, and thanx for sayin that, but I said that their way of revenge is unorthadox, but seriously, if someoned killed ur grandad, and it was ur neighbor's grandad, what would you do? And I never said that rap was racis I said that what this rapper "Killarmy" said is racist. But like I said earlier my opinion is only MY opinion, nobody else gotta like it

![]() ![]() | Re: Is rap music degrating to women? Well, you ASKED for rap songs degrading to white people, and I merely showed you a few. That was the extent of the lyrics I posted. YES, they are older songs. I tried to find ones more relative to the present, but it is not a simple task. One can only take so much ebonic language before ripping one's hair out.

Everyone can choose to rise above their circumstances or they can wallow in it. Which do you think these rappers are doing?

![]() ![]() | Re: Is rap music degrating to women? I think that the rap is degrating to wemon because most songs that they have are about raping them or sleeping with them. It's not right. I don't know about you guys but I think rappers need to find something more to sing about then sex. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Is rap music degrating to women? Alright... time to make my return (again)! Since this argument HAS turned rather one-sided (sorry, N.Y._Soulja, but you're just not doing a good job of defending), what with Arrianna being decidedly anti-rap, I've come in to be pro-rap. First, to make a basic point: rap is dying. I don't care how many people disagree with me, it's true. Rap is wallowing in it's own "popularity" of times past. The fact is that rap is still very good, just that the number of random people jumping in and making random CRAP is skyrocketing. Now, for the next point: rap is NOT real. There's a very real chance that a vast majority of what they say is complete BS. I listen to rap, yes. I listen to it for fun. Don't automatically assume it's true. I don't listen to it then start trying to hurt peolpe who insult fifty cent. That's stupid. I'm not sure on this, but... isn't the difference between Hip-hop and Rap just semantics? Argue all you want, but I've heard selections of what most consider the "staple" of each, and it's nearly the same. Tupac is easily called rap, and it's not unheard-of to consider various Dirty South rapers (Luda, Bonecrusher, etc) to be Hip-hop. Whatever. Anyways, there IS a vast divide in QUALITY between most rappers. People like Bonecrusher, Lil Jon, etc. (typically Dirty South), have rather forceful lyrics that they come up with at the drop of a hat (freestylin', I'm surprised no one pointed out the time difference in creation of songs between Rap and other genres), but then there's other people Like Talib, I guess Kanye (he's not gold, people!), and a few others (REALLY wanna say Neptunes for some reason (not NERD by itself)). Thus, most Rap IS degrading to women. I don't see how you can argue against it. BUT, Rap is a very fine music genre all on it's own, so long as you are prepared to wade through loads of crap to find a couple gems (reminds me of Fanfiction.net).

And crap is at the forefront of rap today, so maybe it will change again. But here's a case study: "Candy Shop" by 50cent. Sure, the music & rhythm are just like the successful "Magic Stick" w/Lil Kim (and better than 50's first CD). But do you think the sexual innuendo and overt explanation are degrading to women or just exploitation of profanity for the sake of record sales?
