Rose Petals (Poem)
At work,
I’m in the parking lot watering,
When my gaze catches,
A bunch of fallen rose petals.
I decide to pick up a few,
And keep them for later.
With my hands full,
I don’t want to place them,
In my pocket,
As they will be crushed.
So I find a place,
But till I free my hands,
I place them on my lips,
And hold them there.
The softness of the petals,
Are felt immediately,
The soft fragrance races to my nostrils,
And my love’s image appears.
This must be what she feels like,
Her lips being as soft as this.
I’ll think of her now more an angel,
But soft as those little rose petals.
