sailor venus is my fave and i used to watch it all the time when i was younger (7 years ago??) and i never thought of it to be hentai, i'm shocked cos we as little kids loved it! it had it's serious, sad moments and also comedy
try and get a hold of one episode if u can and decide, but i think it's good

Have you seen any of the other seasons? If not, and you wanted to start watching Sailor Moon, I'd recommend starting at the beginning.im wondering whether or not to get the first season.
I found the series to be fairly enjoyable, even though it relied quite a bit on the "Villain of the Day" scheme (bad guy sends a new type of monster to fight the heroes, and the heroes save the day with their patented special attacks, then the bad guy is mad the monster failed and they are in turn punished by the "main bad guy"), but that is fairly common I suppose (I've seen this device used in Zenki, Gaogaigar, among others). My favorite Sailor Moon season is Sailor Moon R, though - thats when I thought the series was most interesting.
It wasn't hentai. There's a difference between a bit of fanservice and pure porn. *rolls eyes*
And the uncut version of the first Sailor Moon season was never released. There are only VHS's and DVD's of the cut dub.
S and SuperS have been released uncut, though, as well as the movies.

The first and second season of Sailor Moon uncut in the original Japanese sound track was available (at one time) from ADV Films, but the license for it expired in April of last year and it is now out of print with limited availibility...

The license has reverted back to Studio Toei, and so far, has not made any anouncement of a relicense. (But since Toei has announced it's intentions to sell directly to the US market, it may be holding the license for itself...)
Been in such a long time since Ive seen sailormoon. My sister was such a big fan of that series, she actually made me a fan as well. THe first time I saw it, I didnt like it but since my sister watched it all the time and evantually I got to like it. Sailor Venus was my favorite.
I'm wondering when and if they'll ever release Sailor Stars... x.x
Lol, I have Sailor Moon Super on DVD... I am very embarassed to say...
