Interesting... Both samurai and knights have advatages. Knights have protectinon in their armor, and sheer strenght... Those broadswords could destroy a man with one stroke. Then again, that armor is HEAVY... same with the sword... A Samurai has speed, accuracy, and a sharper mind.
Hmm... I think the samurai would win in the end.![]()
My Pirates vs. Ninja thread ruled all! Well, not really.Originally Posted by Hassun
As for Knights vs Samurai. It's Knights, hands down. It would be damned near impossible to get a clean cut with a katana on a suit of armor made out of steel, especially Spanish steel. Also, Knights aren't limited in the kind of weapon they can use.
Freak, a knight beat a samurai? Please....Knights are useless, they may not be limited to the type of weapon they use but that's a disadvantage. They dont practice a particular weapon for so long that they perfect it.Originally Posted by Eriadd

I like both... It's just Samurai are... well. Kenshin and Jin are samurai, there is my reasoning....
Yeah, but we're talking about real samurai and knights here, Fayrin. At least, I hope so. Even if we're not, I'll have Nightmare come and pwn Kenshin from here till next week.
Oh, come on! I'm the only one who voted for knight? You all fail!
Grumble Grumble
Well Samurai aren't limited in their kind of weapons as well. A Japanese Yari (Spear) which was designed to pierce armour, would make short work of anything less then modern alloy steel, and was a common Japanese battlefield weapon....Originally Posted by Eriadd
Where the European Knights would excel would be in mass field tactics. Most of your classic Samurai of film and literature are Ronin (masterless) Samurai, who work independently, and have no experience in going up against Pike and Shield wall... A Swiss Pike Square would also make mincemeat out of most classic Japanese infantry formations as well...
