Thread: Savior

Upon my shoulder
I carry a weight
That haunts me everyday in my dream
I struggle to break free from it
But every time I do it seems
That it clings harder on to me

Little by little it consumes part of my soul
Till I’m left with what’s left of it
I feel tired, weak and cold
Oh god, help me!
I have a hole
A hole that’s needs to be replaced
Or suffer from what I’m most afraid

Loneliness
Depression
I know you well
You feed on me when I’m all alone

Then suddenly a bright light appeared
Like an angel from the clouds
I looked up expectantly
Hoping it’s a blessing from up above
The light brightens, the person is revealed
Who might that person be?

Dressed in normal average clothes
Staring at me with her soft blue eyes
Making me feel so alive
She smiled at me and flowers bloomed
Tress grew and birds singed
I felt warm again and oh so free
Free from whatever that’s haunting me
I could dance and jump and hop around
I could spread my invisible wings and fly away

I suddenly realized that life can be
Filled with such happiness, joy and cheer

Thank you my savior
Thank you for rescuing me
I’ve never appreciated life
I never did
You showed me a way
You taught me how
You shall forever be in my heart
A special person I shall cherish for now and all eternity
