from my understanding there are alot of people here still in school who may have gone through this or may be waiting to, and i feel that todays sex ed is not nearly up to standards. i feel that children should be shown actual people on the tapes instead of badly drawn diagrams. well i leave the debate to simmer and return later to comment. have fun.

Children as young as of 12 are getting pregnant, I hardly think that showing graphic images like that are going to help, to them it would be like their first taste of porn. I also feel that it's not really upto the state to tell children/teenages about sex, really it should be upto the parents themselves to educate as they are responable for a childs upbringing.
Only about a mouth ago a news story in England told about a mothers 3 children (aged 12-16) who ALL had babies of their own, also none of them knew who the fathers where?! Do you know who the mother blaimed for all this.... the government, talk about a scapegoat

Sex Ed fails like crazy in schools...I can tell you that I learned nothing when they only spend like two weeks and looking only at a side view of a male's and a picture of a females organ.
Even in health ed during 12th grade, I learned nothing because I can't even remember more than three sexually transmitted disease and their symptoms.

Unfortunately I have to be honest and say that everything about sex that I learned, are not from school, and from other sources.

nowadays, kids can learn about sex from anywhere
hell, they can learn a thing or too from watching MTV or Howard Stern
a sex ed class isn't really necessary anymore with great teaching tools such as the television and the internet
why have an elderly woman tell you everything about sex when you can have Britney Spears tell you the same thing?

Sadly, today's youth know almost everything about sex. Sex ed isnt gonna help as long as the music videos of today show that it's okay to have sex. There are so many things that our youth are engaged in that promotes sex. Sex ed just promotes the reasons why you shouldnt have sex. It's helped, but not much. And it wont help because so many forces are pushing towards sex is good.

they should make a campaign for sex sorta like what Truth is doing for tobacco
what they're doing now is okay, but they're pretty much focusing on AIDS
they should do it for every STD
there should be commercials featuring people that have STDs and a little thing on the bottom that says "this could happen to you"
instead, they have advertisements for drugs for people with herpes
saying that people with herpes can continue to have sex without the fear of passing it on with the partner
that makes me sick that they are encouraging it
they should concentrate on a cure than make drugs that delays the sores from appearing so people can get laid

very ture but not all kids now about VD's. That is why there should be sex ed. I don't need it thoguh, I've seen waht happens. MY friends in NY are in a hell of a prob, I got a friend with HIV, who is really screwed not to mention his grl is pregnant, so........................................ they're screwed................... I told him, double up, but does anybody listen to me?
