    Re: sex education

i found a book earlier that was given to me in year 9 and actually read it and found that it was telling me a lot of things about protection and diseases, i got the feeling that kids would do better with this kind of teaching, what was special about this book was that it gave a lot of places where underage kids can go and get protection.

Geez its been so long since I took that class...what like 5th-6th grade? Like ten years ago now. Anyways I agree the class was completely forgetable. Did little but tell me what I already knew at the time. I can see why its still done, to inforce precautionary senses in teens but still, they need to be more realistic about it instead of teaching it like its an anatomy class.

very ture but not all kids now about VD's. That is why there should be sex ed.
True, but Health class can teach about VD etc without going into the soft-porn. It's not like it's all that hard to figure out what goes where, but learning about VD and everything that goes with being sexually active, such as higher chances of cancer for girls under the age of 18-21 or the failure rate of condoms etc, seems to be seriously missing.

VEry true indeed, I won't argue there....................... but I will say this, I think Sex ed is great, it can really help show wat sex is, and waht are the outcomes of it
You should stop talking about your dreams, and start making them.

There is something so human in the desire to never give up, while at the same time, never giving it your all?

But they don't need sex-ed to know what sex is. And the outcomes are obvious, we just choose to ignore them.

    Re: sex education

I think why some of us thinks that sex ed doesn't work is because it is taught in middle school, but the way they're teaching it, it would seem like the students are in their 20-30s, married and want to have kids but don't know how to.

When it finally gets to health ed it's high school, and probably by then many kids had sex already.
