Well. think about it this way. To recieve food stamps your paycheck has to fall into a certain range. Also many of the people recieving food stamps have children to feed. To make them do community service is out of the question. Many have jobs to hold, families to raise and time not to spare. Yes some of these people would bitch and complain even if they did have to commit to some type of service. That wont make their life any easier and wont make the over worked, under paid social workers life easier also.

I have a question.. How do you know that these people who you say "dont really need them" actually dont. You would most likely be suprised about who in you community uses food stamps. The keep that sort of thing confidential.

Thanks for explaining. If what I hard is all true, then I agree with that those that are selected to use them should be allowed to.

If they lived in a mansion with a hummer, I'm pretty sure they would have no problem paying for groceries. If they have a low enough income to qualify for foodstamps I dont see how they could afford those things though. Unless they lived with someone else. There are also other things that determine wheather or not you are liable to recive food stamps such as if you have children, are married or single and so fourth.

i didn't know such things existed, but i think that they're a good thing so long as the people who get them don't just lay back and survive on them without looking for jobs. i think that the big issure does a good similar thing.

What a callous ass. Let's just hope you are never in desperate need of food, enough so that you have to turn to the STATE to feed your family on a totally meager allowance. Ugh, peoples pure stupidity is almost painful sometimes....

I'm also starting to wonder if any of you have actually KNOWN someone who had to survive on foodstamps. It isn't ****ing pretty, imagine a life of kool-aid and ramen packets along with the 'bargain' meat from Thriftway. You don't just get foodstamps because you ****ing ask for them, you GET them because you prove your income is below a certain number which ENTITLES you to them because the state has already decided that this wage is NOT enough to live on. Jeeze... Driving an SUV and having foodstamps ? Are you ****ing kidding me ? <sigh> Ignorance and stupidity go hand in hand, I guess...
