Religion shouldn't be taught in schools. Especially because this country is so frickin' diverse!

It's been said plenty of times before that tolerance should be taught at home. Parents should give children general (unbiased) summarys of certain religions; but only if the child is curious.

Also, if you are REALLY eager to learn so much about religion; why not wait until college. There are plenty of colleges that study and teach Theology. I know, because one of my closest friends went to school for Theology, and has a father with the same major.

Sure, it's great to understand one another and all. But religion should be kept in the church/temple/mousqe (whatever.), and the facts should be kept in schools.

They should make an elective out of it. It would be totaly optional and they would cover all the major religions even the "dark" ones. I think that would get rid of some of the confusion, I think. I, for one, am very tire of being called a devil worshiper .

i think creationism as well as evolution should be taught so each person can make their own disission

AGreed. Truth is unique to every person. Nothing is universally true or false.

Perception is unique, truth is universal. You can call an apple an orange all you want but that won't make it true.

Both Creationism and Evolution are theories though. I agree, both should be taught.

no i dont think teachers should....i thought thats why they made church ...if they want to talk about it they should just work at a church
my science teacher tells me ill go to hell if i keep wearing dragon and flame shirts.....so that why i dont like it when teachers talk about ur religion....=S

i agree with knightof NI... parents these days r really bad with there children
its kind of hard to tell ur child anything if you cant even teach him/her the basics of life or even one simple thing like there abc's =)..but still schools well its not there job to teach kids about there religion there main focus is to teach the kid the stuff they need to get trough school
