So I hate how slow Cell Txt is - Page 2

I don't see how it could be slower, really; you're saving quite a few button presses. Unless you're writing something really weird and full of uncommon acronyms.

Yeah, I guess it takes a while to get used to. I suppose I am used to thinking that way from being a geek and playing various number games as a child, but if that ends up making my T9 skillz better then I suppose I'm better for it.

Character per min test? Wow. That's a lot of pressure. I'll work on it, though. Just don't give me a deadline or nothing.

well i mean if you want to do a character per min thing, that would be cool, i just wanna compair it to how fast my friend can do it on his cell without T9. I am pretty sure that T9 is faster, but it would be cool to compair anyway.

you could do a little T9 "war" thing, where you decide on a message to send to each other and each of you uses a different style and see who finishes faster

I use it often and it does speed up texting. Only prob i have with it are short hand words and acronyms.

I think that's the point of T9 though, you don't have to use shorthand... but i hear that cussing in T9 is really hard to do, lol

Shorthands and acronyms are weird with T9 ( the predictive text client my phone has) - I'll be typing something and it'll stick to a random acronym I don't even understand or know anything about... very irritating.

Though I think the idea that it's harder to swear is good - promotes better speaking habits. I suppose the same thing could be said about acronyms, but sometimes its just annoying to have to type something out.

Nothing wrong with swearing ^_^. But on a little side note, what the best T9 mismatch you've gotten? I was in the process of typing "concert", when it switched to "bomb". I laughed out loud in class

until my cellphone just couldn't understand all the words I added to its dictionary...

like... "friggin" and "frig" and "friggy" and "frigzorz" and "frigtastic"...
...you know, I had a lot of words like that...

....my cellphone got confused...
....especially...
"OMG" with "OMG!" and "OMG!!!" ... it had no idea where to go when I didn't put in a THIRD exclamation mark...

¬.¬ in other words... just type faster...

Since the only thing I use T9 for is memos and events on my cell phone's calendar, I don't have a lot of experience with it. I guess it's good, but it can get really annoying at times.

Is the annoying thing the acronyms and stuff like that? or is it mostly that you have to add a bunch of words? -basically is it something that can be avoided?
