    do any of the aoer's know a way to make windows xp faster

    Change it to a 98 windows lot better or a hp.

    Hahaha, yeah, I have a windows XP computer fitted with windows 98. It's a lot faster, XP has a bunch of unnecessary sub-programs running that do hell to your PC speed. Or you could just buy more RAM

    The best way to speed up Windows XP is...

    1. Have sufficent RAM. 512 Megabytes of RAM is about the minimum now a days for stable operations...

    2. Keep the task bar resident programs to a minimum. If you can start up application from the start menu, or a embedded browser link (such as Apple Quicktime), why have a stub program taking up memory and CPU cycles in your task bar...

    And by the way, Windows 2000, and 98 may be faster, but they no longer have security bug patch support from Microsoft. If you don't mind hosting a SPAM mail relay, or have all of your Internet browsing/shopping information exposed, go ahead and use them... otherwise, either O.S. platform can no longer be considered safe for Internet browsing...
