Sophistication in anime I think anime shows like Read or Die and Full Metal Alchemist are quite the sophisticed shows. As a fan of these shows I think we could use more of them

I agree. Sophistication in anime keeps it interesting. But making it too sophisticated could create a weak fandom. People don't like to think too much.
(as in "too much" I mean more than the average monkey XD (j/k))

I think there's a lot of sophistication in Last Exile. That show is awesome.
sophistication? well something i dont really get is serial experiment lain, i have only seen the first vol on dvd. another would be Neon Genisis Evangelion.
i have never seen one episode but that is a mind number from what i have heard.

I think Hellsing can be quite sofisicated on places - i may be mad in thinking it though - apart from that it is a kick ass series. So so SSOOOO cool!
