well about the making your own new character in SC... the PSM mag that i just got it says
"SC gives you control over your character's sex, appearance, occupation, and of course, the all-important weapon.You're making an all-new original character, tailor-made to you own unique specifications"

I think the create your own character is one of those desperate moves to keep the franchise alive...

Right now, Im stuck between SCIII, Tekken 5, and DOA ultimate, which one should I get??

Right now?
Tekken of course because:
a)SC hasn't been released yet and will not be released anytime soon.
b)DOA Ultimate is just DOA2 with an online mode.
c)Tekken is damn good.

I like the DOA2U, it's awesome, this new SC3 game seems a little dumb with it's create a fighter mode, so I'd have choose DOA2U, but this is coming from a guy who hasn't played Tekken 5 yet.

Go for Tekken 5. Hassun was right in his reasons why. It's just that much better.

Much dissapointment has been residing in me ever since my arcade announced or rather, snidly commented to me......that Soul Calibur II was going to be removed. I may own it on PS2, but at the arcade there was conquest mode, and the chance to pound the life out of anyone else who wanted to play. So long as they produce another arcade version, which we all know they should, I'll be kicking ass with Taki once again.

And I hate the Tekken series, they are toooooooo damn slow.

Well considering there hasn't even been an announcement
on SCIII in arcade form I say you're out of luck there too.

Tekken 5 isn't slow imo, Tekken 4 was though...

Very true. I was heavily bummed out about the rate.... but part 5 definately made up for that

People buy RPGs for story time. They buy fighting games to well, fight. Plus Tekken and SC games are both made by Namco, so there's your connection to why the storylines seem similar. Fighting games are like Kung Ku movies. The dialogue and story are just a reason for there to be a big fight.

Hey, hey, hey, just because Super Smash Brothers Melee doesn't have a story mode at all doesn't mean other games don't. You sure you've played tekken or soulcalibur? Because both are filled with pretty good storylines.

Exactly, I'm one of those people who buy fighting games when the story is good or when it has interesting characters.
This is one of the reasons I can never really get into SC, there are no characters that I find really interesting, although I like playing with Cervantes...
