    Re: spyware

I had the same problem and none of the spyware removal programs would remove the stuff, they would block anymore from getting in but not remove it. Microsoft Antispyware was the only one(color me surprised ) that did both.

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

But keep away from the 'No-name' brands of Spyware removal tools. There's alot of stuff out there that 'claims' to remove adware/spyware, but instead, actually installs adware/spyware on your system...

The website "Tom's Hardware" has just posted a article on some of the 'alternate' Spyware removal utilites which can prove to be of interest...

Spyware Doctor is ok, mainly because it works relatively fast, but it compromises in the level of detail in its sweeps. Spybot takes a little longer, but produces a much more robust analysis for review. The only downside other than time and processor use, is the fact that it can flag some normal system opterations. You just have to be careful about what you choose to delete. They seem to update their definitions more often too. Spybot also contains a "safe" data shredder app.

I recommend using hitman pro, I found it on a dutch site and it's a good concept.
    http://www.hitmanpro.nl/

It downloads other anti-spyware programs and runs them together in one big scan.
And lucky for us it supports the English language.

A good idea and it works fine.
