I used to use Norton antivirus and spysweeper, it screwed me up though. right now I just use SBC and it actually works great.
System mechanic is a good pop up killer. It doens't only kill the pop ups it kills viruses as well........
I use Kaspersky.
I use Mcafee security center and antispyware i protects my system but slows the startup down very badly very.....very....badly:2thumbs:
if you follow that you will pretty much be fine.Quote:

It's not and Microsoft's orignal product they just bought the company that was developing it and thus got the rights to use the program.
Well anyways it features: Automatic updates, Real time protection and Very large spy and adware database. Oh and i can't forget Spy.Net. Basicly everytime a new registration entry is added MAS informs you about it and asks if it's allowed to run.
Then you can choose to send the info to Spy.Net. That's a database that helps the developers determine all the new ad and aspyware programs.
Other then that the best way to get rid of spyware and everything like that is to stop using Internet Explorer.
Firefox, Opera or basicly any other web browser is more secure then IE
Firefox still gets a lot of spyware. Adaware and whatever else I have never seem to prevent me getting spyware, I always have about 30 by the end of the week. Does this Microsoft Anti Spyware slow down your computer down that much? Does someone have a link?
