Whoa, wait, "nothing really big"?

*REALLY BIG SPOILERS, DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE SEEN RECKONING 1 AND 2*

1. RepliCarter (sorry, it's just irresistible to call her that!) assassinated the Goa'uld System Lords
2. The Replicators waged an all-out war with the Goa'uld
3. The Jaffa rebelled against the Goa'uld
4. Baal begged Jack for help (Jack's refusal was hilarious!)
5. An Ancient weapon that could destroy all life in the galaxy was found on Dakara
6. The Jaffa successfully captured Dakara and renounced the Goa'uld as false gods!
7. Daniel Jackson uses the power of the Ancients, while still human, to halt the Replicators
8. Every stargate in the galaxy was dialed simultaniously (w/ the help of Baal, no less!)
9. The Replicators were eliminated from the galaxy using the Ancient weapon
10. Daniel Jackson DIED AGAIN
11. Thor DIED AGAIN (only his conciousness was downloaded into a computer and put into a new body...)

And that's just two episodes! Now, some of the season was slow (eps like Avatar that accomplished nothing, for instance), but other parts were important, like introducing and exploring The Trust, and, as you said, a romance between Sam and Jack was made possible and could start up any minute! So don't just dismiss Season 8!

Well I misunderstood what you meant by grand. I thought by grand you meant one of the best episodes. Wasnt particularly my fav, bvut I did enjoy Jackson in the diner scenes and finding Anubis there. That was cool in my opinion, but not one of my fav eps. It just felt like they've done most of that checklist before. Nothing really new from it, typical season ender in my opinion, only without the cliffhanger leading to next season.

Not dismissing season 8, like I said it was decent, but just not my fav. I missed some random episodes though so to be fair I havent seen it all, but I'll get the dvd boxset the day its released and see them all within a week or two of buying, then I can give a complete analysis of it.

I must agree with you, there. While Threads was not the best episode ever, seeing Anubis as a jovial fat guy in a '50s style diner was somehow very fulfilling!

Stargate is indeed an awesome series. What I like most of all is that for science fiction, it stays very accurate to the facts.

I agree. Its a show that doesnt try to take itself too seriously but at the same time doesnt get cheesey. They are right on with most of the God and System Lord info they give whihc was one of the first things that brought me into the show as I started watching in Season 3 first. I think its a smarter show than people give it credit for.
