we don't know much about what is like after death.None of us will have any memories of our previous life after death.it is not certain
This life is a test, we have had a veil pulled over our eyes so that we remember nothing before and have no knowledge of anything after. If we did it would be too easy and this life would be pointless.
Also just because the Egyptians were wrong doesn't mean anything, they were pretty stupid to believe that anyway. Its not yet time for us to know anything, if we did then why would we be here? In this life all we need is a steadfastness in Christ and to endure till the end with our faith leading the way.
And yes Kedar is right, meterialistic things are meaningless in the hereafter. The only things we will take with us is our knowledge and memories.
