And why is that? Two weeks is enought time for a thread to be dead.... Specially in the Tech section, people usually want advice as soon as possible in there no months after their problem....

Since the begining of the site we have learned that the interest shown by most users on a single thread is no more than a week, so we doubled that life span and decided to leave it at two weeks....

Techical replies may not appear quickly, especially on non-techie forums. I was suggesting this because the solution might be used for a back-reference when someone comes up with a similar problem. I don't think a useful advice, or a knowledge has a deadline.

Actually they do appear rather quickly in this site, thanks to one of our staff member (LenMiyata), who is really knowledgeable about hardware and software...

    Re: thread deadlines

The only thing I think should be done with deadlines is to shrink deadlines on the Introduction forums. It's just a quick way to get posts from saying the same things over and over and over. Not that it's a big deal.

Not to mention there ussually isn't anything left to ay on a good forum that's been dead for 2 weeks that either hasn't been said, or isn't spam.
