i knew that there good to
Who's this Toei guy? :P
Anyway, in terms of money sacking, big shots and most importanly name recognition (aside from the otaku crowd), it's Ghibli.
Another name which should be known is of course GAINAX. Sunrise with mass producing and its Gundam and other franchises does have fame outside of otaku circles as well. Nippon Animation probably as well, seeing their works consecutively filling Asahi's all-time top100. Hmm, Madhouse was involved in The Animatrix production as well as several animated movies and animation in movies, so I guess it should be mentioned as well. And to not completely diss Toei, yeah, they have of course some significance as well, but most of their works leave a bitter aftertaste for me at least (aside from the fact that a lot of the credit they get is not due to their involvement in the animation itself). :P
Of course I've named only companies which did animate a suffice amount of shows and left out distributors (who would want to credit them anyway, as they don't have any doing in a shows production - aside from the recent partly financial production) and also the companies only responsing for parts of the production aside from animation. Bandai should be known to anybody anyway. ;)
