today i happened to catch a glimpse of the children's saturday morning cartoons...and to my surprise there was a new show called 'Mew Mew Power' that was basically 'Tokyo Mew Mew'....is it indeed the licensed, english-dubbed version of 'Tokyo Mew Mew'? mind you, i've only seen the first 2 episodes of Tokyo Mew Mew, but i wanna know if it's the actual 'Tokyo Mew Mew' series or some sort of spin off or something?
It's most definitely the redubbed, rewritten, sliced-and-diced Tokyo Mew Mew. You can read some people's reactions in this thread:

My advice is to sleep in on Saturday and skip this "Nelvana-ed" version of the show. Instead wander down to your local Borders/Waldenbooks/Barnes and Noble and buy the manga. The series was OK, but the Tokyo Mew Mew manga is ace.

"Mew Mew Power" is just the edited version of Tokyo Mew Mew I'm sure of that.

I don't like the DUB! >.<; They changed all the character's names like Ichigo to Zoe. ;__; I like the manga and the Japanese anime better. I wish they never made that DUB ever. It's very embarrasing to watch but it can be kinda cute in a way.
