I agree ... I think in the attempt to create dramatic atmosphere (by using pauses, silence and slowing the pace) the producers overdid it at spots ... but I really liked the "blastoff" and consequent final scene after he left the castle.

my favourite scene was when all that blood started rushing towards the vampire mother, as well as all the traps that D had to go through, like that blood lake and that room of mirrors etc

well i must say that vampire hunter d has more blood scenes than hellsing. Hellsing is pretty much decent than VHD. VHD has blood scenes that were realy awesome.

i have both movies, the are great although the graphics for blood lust is so ubber great. Also very well written storys

They are pretty well written....I notice in some anime's there little moments of "what? what just happened?"

not in vampire D, the story is pretty basic, but still manages to be very interesting.

I found that I actually enjoyed the books (now that they are becoming available in the US) to be a lot more enjoyable that the movies. And yes they are novels, not manga. The first movie is based on the first book and the second movie, Bloodlust, is actually the third book (which should be out in January in the US). There are over a dozen books so far. The books give more detail onto D's past, but I still don't know where the hand came from. Also, at least in the second book, more or less flat out says who D's father is as well as explaining more back history of the world and vampires. I also found it funny that the auther briefly explains what happened to Jack the Ripper and in the Bermuda Triangle.

I loved them both. Bloodlust is my fav of course because of Karmila. She reminds me of Bathory and i'm also a fan of hers. The graphic is amazing and the story is cool. I can't ask for more.
