Newbie | Re: Vampire Hunter D I found that I actually enjoyed the books (now that they are becoming available in the US) to be a lot more enjoyable that the movies. And yes they are novels, not manga. The first movie is based on the first book and the second movie, Bloodlust, is actually the third book (which should be out in January in the US). There are over a dozen books so far. The books give more detail onto D's past, but I still don't know where the hand came from. Also, at least in the second book, more or less flat out says who D's father is as well as explaining more back history of the world and vampires. I also found it funny that the auther briefly explains what happened to Jack the Ripper and in the Bermuda Triangle. |
