Currently, there are no plans for a third season of Vandread. There is a manga series sequal that available. With the current 'bubble' in Anime productions, all of the major anime studios are over-booked for productions. Plus, with the fan community demands for sequals for more popular series (Hellsing, Berserk, Blood, Fruits Basket), and producers wanting to produce new series, it would be difficult to find funding, and schedual another Vandread series...
Maybe what you've heard was most like ''Vandread Gekitouhen'' OR ''Vandread Taidouhen''
Those are resume movie for each stage. I think that the manga released in japan is showing the story after the anime.

From what I've read, Vandead is finished for good.
Although there is an OVA to it.
