An FLCL AMV to Hendrix's Speed King. Tough to go wrong with that combination in the first place, but the guy who did it put over 100% into it. Awesome stuff.
Pretty crappy thread, considering it is kinda like those "what are your favorite blah blah blah" threads, but at the moment we can use the activity.
What was the best AMV you've ever seen? Name? Song? Series? Person who made it?
Fill in what you know about it according to the questions.
Best one i've seen would have to be one that used the song, "Highway to the danger zone" from Top Gun, then mixed elements from Top Gun and Macross. I thought it was pretty good, they had pretty good timing plus some comical elements in there. Plus, I actually like that song from Top Gun. It was called, "The Need For Speed" by Skyfire AMV productions.

A user at Hypeodermic Studios named Beowulf did a video called "Slipping Away" for Samauri X/Kenshin set to Nine Inch Nails "Into the Void". Hands down the BEST vid to a NIN song (there are sooo many) and one of the best AMVs I've seen. Their website has some other good ones, too.
I have one for Serial Experiments Lain that is actually GOOD (well synched, creative), but I forgot the name/creator. If I dig it up, I'll edit the post.
edit: Found it : "Vanilla Lain" by j_koei. Yes, it's set to a Radiohead song, but it's not a common one. I still say it's one of the best Lain vids I've seen.

okay for I know it might sound odd or something but the best AMV i saw (exept the beer song from wierd al with trigun) was with the song mamboleo and it was mixed with 36 anime series!!! The timing was superb and the choice of sequences was remarkeble...although the song is cheesy...the video made it sound better than it is acctuly lolllll
o0oh my favorite video would have to be Tainted Donuts (footage from Trigun and Cowboy Bebop). username E-ko (eric kobet). the song was called Siroi Yami no Naka by Shakkazombie i think. i remember watching that video and i was like "whoa!"

Go to AMV.org and download "Euphoria" the song (Must Be Dreamin) is by Frou Frou and the footage is to Rah Xephon. To truely and completely appreciate it I guess you have to make vids (on a technical standponit) but all the eye candy should please anyone. It also became the most commented vid on the site in record time. As another held it for a long time but was quickly passed when this one debuted at AWA last year. Its a great achievement and quite a marvel to see

Apart from the technical beauty I didn't really like Euphoria...
It's very hard to pick a single favourite...
"I wish I was a lesbian" by Ian Roberts (AbsoluteDestiny) is VERY good.
ErMaC's "Closer to god II" and "The end of me" are also masterpieces.
Honourable mentions go to Doki Doki, NHMK, MTT, DZX, hypeodermic and a few others...
