a good thread needs to have a topic and good starting information to get people chatting or debateing

A good thread needs a good topic, information to back up what is said in the topic, good grammar so others can understand, good use of terms like; However, Therefore, Otherwise, In addition, Also etc.
what about silly kinds of threads?
Silly threads are just a waste, but they are funny sometimes. The requirements for a good silly thread are the following; 1. it should make the reader laugh, 2. It should have silly stuff, 3. It has to make sense too........etc...Quote:
