Because I think you don't know not to ask a question on good threads. It's very simple to come up with a good thread. Let me show you.

Good thread: One that has had thought put into it, and is indulgent on intellegent conversation.

Bad Thread: Pretty much this one.

Actually I have to agree with ken, cuz a thread about what makes a good thread, isnt a good thread at all....

Re: what makes a good thread?

    You would.

Personally, I think a good thread should exploit at reader's personal experiences, but still be intelligent. debate threads are generally the best threads in a forum. You can really judge what a persons attitude is by how they debate in a intelligent topic. The next best are media threads, where you're discussing a band, movie, sport, current events, intelligently. Get to know ya threads are the ones that can get rather annoying. The overly simple ones like: What's your sign? What's your occupation? How old are you? Where do you live? All of those threads get lots of replies, but don't really do anything. That's my take on what's a good thread and what isn't. Also, I think if you aren't confident the users will respond to your thread seriously, its best not to make it.
