![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? Not really,RPG games in the battle system you take turns for each move you make((RP!)) in adventure games you don't role play the battle such as Kingdom Hearts,Star Ocean 'Till the end of time. Not all adventure games you can only play as one character (like in StarOcean Till the end of time) you can easily switch characters in the heat of battle. |

![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? on rpg games, there's a broad storyline. it was more like reading a book but your actually playing it. adventure games focus more on action and a little bit less on the story line. usually, rpg games has more people to use than adventure games.

![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? Okay, all of the above posts are wrong (besides Motoko). RPGs are always games where you play 1 or more characters that get stronger by fighting and killing enemies and find new items over time that help you get stronger. In other words, you basically kill for experience to build up your Vitality, Agility, Strength, etc. Now, adventure games dont follow that system, but it is easy to mix them up because they both are basically story-telling games. So, adventure games are more of games that make you discover new places and most of the time make you kill stuff but you don't neccesarily get stronger over time, but rather get new items to help you on your quest. Hope that helped.

![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? Who sais they have to be different? Combining genres in the video game industry is one of the best ways to bring out the most in a game if done right. Lookl at Fable, it was a good example of the merging of RPG and action genres. It made more of an action game than RPG in most of the game, it just had RPG elements added to it. The way that game companies merge game genres now blurs the deffinitions of what the genres are, few games made today are a pure version of they're claimed genre.

![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? Yeah, RPGs are turn based with one or more characters, and a malleable storyline. Adventure games usually have one main character and the story line is linear.

![]() ![]() | Re: What really the differents between rpg games and aventure games? OK, let me lay down the "basic" deffinition and layout of a true RPG. Definition: A game in which players assume the roles of characters and act out fantastical adventures, the outcomes of which are partially determined by chance, as by the roll of dice. All aspects of some games such as turn based vs real time, single character vs multiple, full control versus partial (text rpg), etc etc etc are all simple categories or sub-genres of the ever so massive RPG genre. Things like experiance, levels, mystical monsters, and magick are all "classic" additions that RPG's are expected to have. An RPG is one of those things that no longer has a true form due to the huge scope of games that are considered to be mainly classified under the RPG genre.
