Cooking is one of my fort├ęs and there's not many of those. Only thing I can recall bad enough to remember is a steam burn, which are/was terribly painful. AoE(area of effect) was my whole right thumb, index finger, and hand around that area.

Hmmm....I dont really have accidents while cooking...I'm still learning how to make good bacon though...I guess frying the bacon till it's extra crispy isnt an accident?!!

I bake mostly, I'd say leaving the brownies in the oven for too long...We had cake. XD That was hard. XD

    Re: while cooking...

The worst thing I did accident wise wasn't an injury.

The first thing I have to say is, don't deep fry when you're tired.

I had just finished frying up something, I can't remember what and I was cleaning up and my eye fell on the oil pot. You know the one that you drain all the fat off of your food in? Well I had only been frying in about an inch-inch and a half of oil and I thought, "that will fit in there". I don't stop to think that there is already rancid fat in there and that the oil is still hot. Any guess as to what happened?

    waiting.....

Think about it for a second.....

    Exactly.....

As soon as the hot oil hit the rancid fat it boiled.....over....and wouldn't stop. It's not like I could contain it. It was hot oil, about 250-300 degrees F hot. I'm just glad that I had already turned off the stove since it went everywhere.

I had to back off, wait for it to cool, and then spent the next two hours cleaning it out of every nook and cranny of the stove top including the drip pan. Used, boiled, rancid oil. Not fun.

But it could have been worse. I was the only one in the kitchen and I was able to avoid it. If there had been anyone else around it would have probably meant 3rd degree burns.

    Re: while cooking...

well you can now add yet another finger cut to my injuries list... so instead of ten fingers i now have 8 that are working... poop...
there was also a time where i just got out of a shower and decided to make meself a cup o'tea... bad idea! yeah by accident i spilled the tea all over my body and ow... my stomach burned for two weeks straight...
but these current cuts are very deep... and the first one is like cut four times... i dunno it was a weird knife....
oo i don't peel potatoes either now... ever since that day when my finger accidently slipped and i almost chopped off half of my finger....
my mom had it worst. she was using one of those grinders that spin really really really fast and she forgot to turn it off and looked away for a second and cut her finger, half her finger... it was like hanging onto to her hand by a thread.... she had to go to the ER and they sewed it back on. it still works somehow as it used too.... of course now we go to the store and buy ground beef instead of doing it ourselves.....

    Talking Re: while cooking...

Lol, once the propane tank under my stove burst and the water that was boilin' on the stove splashed my arm and my eye, and shards of glass from the door of the stove cut me up pretty bad. Good think I heal well. Now all I have is a burn scar on my wrist. To put it simply, I now have an electric stove lol
