There were 3 reason for the invasion; WMD's, support of terrorism, and the inhuman treatment of the Iraqi people.

WMD's. There have been two cases of a WMD substance being used since the invasion but both times the people using it were to incompetent to be efficient. We still have no idea where they came from. The main concern in WMD's was a)Hussains refusal to allow the UN inspectors to confirm that known supplies had been destroyed (still unconfirmed for the most part) b)Attempts by Hussain to get his hands on materials for a nuke.

Concerning b: We know that Hussain had access to several tons of "yellow cake" which can be refined for nukes using a centrifuge machine. He had the plans for such and if the UN had become laxs enough had the ability to make one. He was known to be trying to buy more. More importantly when Dr. Mahdi Obeidi, who had run the nuclear centrifuge program, was captured in Baghdad he handed over both plans and some actual parts he had kept buried in his back yard waiting for orders to use them. In his own words "I had to maintain the program to the bitter end." The point was to prevent Hussain from accomplishing that.


As for your second question it is not that simple. But then it rarely is.

*rofl* if you actually believe that......wow.. rather, invasion is necessary ~ to keep the great arms industry's wheel churning, we need an enemy to fight for arms to profit...after all, if humans actually loved one another, then what purpose would it serve to mass-produce artillery? that's bad for business.. war makes money; don't dilute yourself into thinking that it's more than that..

Feh, there's something called "Free Will". The way I see it, if those sons and daughters wanted to join the military, than they knew that they risked the chance of being shot, splattered, knifed or killed in any other painful or gruesome manner. Who's fault is it that they died? Their own. I'm of age to join the military, but I have no intention of doing so. Why? I don't feel like dying, and I'm not willing to take that chance by joining up. It's as simple as that.
