It could defanitly be a combination of both Tite Kubo's interest in American pop culture (with the Nirvana album title) and the idea of Bleach as a cleaning agent.

It could defanitly be a combination of both Tite Kubo's interest in American pop culture (with the Nirvana album title) and the idea of Bleach as a cleaning agent.
It's called bleach because the creator is a big fan of nirvana, and he wanted to name a series after one of there songs.
But still... Untill now, there's no official reason why Bleach named Bleach.
So, all the theories above isn't wrong, but not assured if it is the exact reason.
