Thread: why do people like anime ?

Its a chance to escape from the real world, its entertainment, jsut like movies and TV shows you know?

I love the artwork('cause I'm an artist)and the stories('cause I'm a writer). I have fun watching the way the artwork and story develop.

Why? Well, it is crack, that is why. Just saw your first Anime title? Well you just used your first gateway drug.

Ha, ha I totally agree with that! I remember when I first started watching anime, I was so nuts about it, I was collecting 3 series at once, plus whatever movies I could get my hands on. The majority of my checks went towards anime.
As for why I like it, wll, that's kind of like asking why people like movies, or classical music or anything else. It's just personal preference. I like it because of the stories, and I love animation. I love the colors, and the fact that things can be done in animation that can't be done in live action. It feeds the imagination.

I agree, its crack. Plus its different from american cartoons. I could also be addicted to it because I've been watching anime since I was a 2 years old. I just grew up with it, its just something that has always been there. This is surprising becuase when I was 2 anime was something that wasn't all that popular here in California.

yeah, we grew up with all the old stuff, Robotech, and all those oldies ^.^

Robotech is still one of my favorite animes. A friend of mine is obessed with it. He's collected just about every piece of Robotech merchandise available.
