Well if its not for the money then you've got me. I mean why else would they? Everyone knows you cant scare anyone over 13 with a PG-13 horror movie, they have a hard enough time doing it in R rated movies. I think they know their appeal is to teenagers and by making it PG-13 instead of R that adds quite a large group of kiddies that are willing to blow their money on cheesy horror movies.

The saddest part about "scary" movies these days is that these people think if they show gruesome scenes and special affects they'll scare you. They have completely lost the art of suspence and intrigue, making the person scare themselves. What we imagine can scare us far worse then the best special effects.

In my opinion all of the producers should be required to watch Alfred Hitchcock's works and learn how it's meant to be done.,

The mass production of the "horror" films is confusing me, I see no need for horror right now, it's like some kind of dumb fad. and the only reason they're PG-13 is so teenagers can go see it without their parents. Hello? Teens spend alot more time at the movies than adults, so it's targeted mostly at them. And only because of what's already been mentioned...

    Money.
