Many parents force their sons/daughters to go to church.

well to tell you the true i'm too when i was little but there nothing wrong with it going to church, but i'll tell you even you dont go to church to get the holy ghost with you the holy ghost will always be with you even without going to the church that's why on my 8-yr of my life i never been to church and that long time ago i hope i still have the blessing

Well the holy ghost is what you got when you enter inside the church and went you go out side the church dont worry this is not one of da ghost that scare you is just what the people call it, its just a blessing that you been or to be good

Usually when parents make you go to church it is because they care about you and believe they are doing what is best.

My parents never forced me to goto church. I was exposed to Sunday school and Church services at a young age but when I was 7 or 8 my mom asked me if I liked it. I said no. She explained that faith in something I'll be able to look for when I was older. But I should try an accept everyone for what they believe.

That's what I do. I disagree with a Christian background myself because of the way it is presented. It is a good scare tactic for a child though.

We are forced to go to church to learn more on religious thingy. I myself has that problem too. But I don't mind it at all because it's for my own good. And besides when I grow up and get married, it will be my turn to force my children to go to church. >_<

A huge part of parenting is giving your child a good moral foundation upon which to base their life decisions. Many parents -myself included- feel that regular church attendence helps to reinforce the morals that they are trying to instill in their kids.


Besides, you're not bitching because you have to go to church, you're bitching because you have to wake up before noon on Sunday.

My parents use to until I turned 18 then I could do whatever, but they do it to instill moral and religious values obviously. They want their kids to grow up thinking the right way. You should feel lucky that your parents care enough about you to make you do something like that because some parents could give a sh*t less what their kids do. Its only 1-2 hours out of your life once a week I was told and they were right. I still dont know why I hated goign to church, maybe it was because it was forced on me and I hated things being forced on me, but now only 4 short years later I gladly go with my parents whenever I'm home.
