A woman for president?, sure it could happen, and who knows if she has the right attitude maybe some problems will be fixed and the country would move forward. The hardest part would probably be the ppl accepting her as a leader (and not just as a pretty face) and actually taking her seriously.
I know you guys (a generalization, not targeted at anyone) mean well, but honestly, the mindset that there will "probably not be a woman president" due to the role expectations of women doesn't help. Some will argue "it's just reality," that's simply not the case. To say that women are considered "inherently weak" whether you believe it or not induces the Pygmalion effect (or a self-fulfilling prophecy, if you will).
Sure, there will be some women who will try harder to spite these expectations, but we cannot sit on our hands and wait for those people. That's the problem with this issue, people will feel it is unjust, but do nothing in the way of helping out.
I find that most (not all) of humanity's problems can be resolved simply by being educated (properly) during childhood (adults scarcely are swayed). So, to say nothing can be done about it, isn't true, I've done something just now by submitting my ideas. If generation by generation more people can gain better education, eventually things will get better. Obviously this will take a long time, but it's better than doing nothing.
Honestly, I don't believe it matters what race/gender/social status a president is, just so long as that person can both maintain and better our country.

A woman as president of USA wouldn't be a bad idea, if you look throughout our presidential history there haven't been any woman as a president but there will be many oposition to this because in our society we see women as something low and i think that is not right every man and woman should be seem as equal individuals.
I think if something doesn't change in the next 2 years the next President of the US will be a woman. I just hope it's not Hillary or were all in trouble. :thumbd:

I don't think Hillary will be running at this upcomming election. However, I have a feeling she will be running in 2012. And if she does, she's already won my vote.
I don't see why women haven't been president. But I'm sure in '08 some lady will run and win.
It's simple really. Up until the late 20th century, women were looked at as inferior, and thought to be better off homemakers than anything else. In some ways these attitudes still exist, however women have climbed up and gained much respect if you ask me. Also, to this day a women hasn't run for president, and only once run for vice president. This is why there has yet to be a woman president in this nation.Quote:
