I'm going to go ahead and say it now. Tsurara, this thread is very nice and I applaud you for the effort, but it's not going to change a thing. The same people who refuse to type correctly are the same group that has poor quality posts and those that don't read any responses that are longer than 2 lines. If anyone feels that I offend you, well, tough shit. Prove me wrong.

Totally agree, especially with Tip #1. I see so many threads that don't deserve to be in the debate and discuss section.

It's kind of sad, but i can't help agreeing with Legend. You've got some initiative posting this thread, tsurara, but there are people who just constantly break forum rules in general.

Let me explain (I'd credit the source but i forgot where i heard it from):There are two types of novices, newbs and noobs. Noobs are the kind that break the rules, make mistakes, and block out any higher authority telling them otherwise. Newbs do the same thing. However newbs listen to the veterans of whatever they're doing and learn from the mistakes they've made.

In other words, this post will greatly help the newbs, but the noobs will turn a deaf ear.

P.S.Quick little correction (not trying to pseudo-mod!!) but i think a sentence doesn't have to have a noun in it to be complete.

i.e. Go.;Stop.;Leave.; etc.

It's not really important but i figured i might as well point it out

You see, this is where you'd be wrong, sure, one word sentences can be considered as such, but grammatically they are frowned upon.

Also, one word responses will get you an infraction here, so its just best to not use them unless you have something to add after it.

Well this is an interesting thread you have created here, as well how it can accomplish the job by simply making an effort for the New People in the Forum site. This can be an interest for Newbies that can read this before any other posting and make things easier, as well more ideas getting in rather then using it for nothing. Great Job *tsurara ^_^

Really, this is an awesome announcement. Great summary of what-to-do and what-not-to-do here, or perhaps any other forum. Will help the newbs very much. Unfortunately, I have to agree that the issues caused by the boobs (as I like to call them) will probably not be resolved without some strong mod intervention... Infractions, suspensions, removal of priviledges, etc.

You know, maybe as an announcement thread this won't do much... How about sending this through PMs? Certain people are more inclined to read their messages than the actual announcements on the front page...

One thing that really should be mentioned is ... When people reply to a thread, they really should read through that thread before they post... And when they post, they should type a real response.

Not something like, "Yeah, it was kewl." >.<;; Say something more constructive!

It is true that there are people who will fail to follow proper forum etiquette.... (T_T)

That is an interesting response you got there Spike'sRose, and what i have read thus far i waned to simply complement you on this impressive acknowledgment. The other reason i am mentioning this is that when ever New people join the forum site, they will consider this as a *start of topic* in order to construct new ways of ideas as well suggestions to this whole new age of different ways of learning from a mistake.

I wasn't encouraging one word posting, I was just pointing out a rule in grammar. It's really no big deal.
